Welcome to my teaching portfolio!

Michaela on R/V Helmer Hansen, explaining about the effect of climate change on shrimp biology (Barents Sea, 2016; click here for a video about this cruise).

I am a Professor in Fisheries Biology and Management at the Norwegian College of Fishery Science, and since 2009 I have served as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Biosciences, Fisheries and Economics. I have thereby had the opportunity to develop my teaching and mentoring skills at all levels at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, and in this portfolio you will get access to my most important work, reflections, evaluations and plans for the future. The portfolio builds on my competence achieved through the university pedagogy seminar and portfolio at University of Tromsø in 2006.

I have divided my portfolio into four main sections, My teaching vision, Life-long learning, Game based learning and Peer review of teaching, thereby demonstrating the diversity of activities in my teaching, mentoring and pedagogical leadership.

For the moment, some text is in Norwegian and some is in English; later on I will provide access in both languages. To compensate for my dyslexia, I have chosen to include some of my drawings and paintings, as well as some videos.
